Thyroid cancer is an abnormal growth of the cells of the thyroid gland, a butterfly-shaped gland located in front of your neck just below the voice box (larynx). Thyroid gland secretes hormones that help regulate the body’s metabolism and levels of calcium

The parathyroid glands are pea-shaped glands, four in number, present on the thyroid gland in the neck. The parathyroid glands secrete the parathyroid hormone that regulates the calcium level in the body.
