Profile Introduction

Welcome to my website. I am a General Surgeon at Prince of Wales Public and Private hospitals with subspeciality training in surgical oncology. My practice includes endocrine, head and neck, breast and sarcoma surgery. I aim to provide you with professional individualised care throughout the duration of your illness and into the future.

Service focus

I provide emergency and elective surgical services in general surgery at the Prince of Wales (private and public) Hospitals and the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, Sydney. My subspeciality and research focus is on the provision of high quality personalised care to patients with cancer and general surgical problems. This includes:

  • Thyroid cancers, nodules and related disorders
  • Parathyroid gland problems
  • Soft tissue tumours (Sarcomas)
  • Head and neck cancers including salivary gland tumours
  • Breast Cancer

Qualifications

Undergraduate training:

I received my undergraduate medical degree at the University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom, in 2003.

Post graduate training:

  • Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2007.
  • Masters in General Surgery, University of Sydney in 2012.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2013.
  • Specialist post fellowship training was undertaken in surgical oncology with a focus on endocrine, head and neck and sarcoma surgery at Liverpool and Prince of Wales Hospitals.

Awards and Positions:

  • Clinical Committee Prize for highest marks in SET clinical examination 2010, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
  • Conjoint Lecturer with the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
  • Local Co-ordinator for RACS Fellowship examination, Sydney, 2016.
  • Convenor for General Surgery Annual Scientific Conference 2016-2018.
  • Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) Course Instructor, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

My Story

I was born in the United Kingdom and undertook my medical training in the North of England. I moved to Australia in 2005 and loved both the work and lifestyle from living in Sydney. Having a young family occupies most my time outside of work, any free time outside of my family is spent golfing and watching sport.
